Rainwater Harvesting

Introduction
All of our rainwater harvesting systems are designed in accordance with BS8515:2009 to the highest standards.
Our supplier WPL Limited is an accredited member of both British Water and the UK Rainwater Harvesting Association.
Our two best-selling systems are the Home System, which allows you to switch automatically between stored rainwater and your existing mains feed, and the Garden System, which stores and recycles rainwater for garden irrigation and car washing.
In addition, PBSL also supply Rainwater Harvesting Systems for larger scale developments, commercial sites and schools. The school system incorporates a wall mounted digital display panel which can be used as a dynamic teaching aid in the classroom. All products are provided with comprehensive installation manuals which also include maintenance advice.
The excavation area for the our systems is small compared to other systems, and does not require any costly concrete backfilling (except in areas of high water table). All tanks are made from Duralen, a recyclable material.
For ease of installation, the neck of the tank incorporates a rotating turret, which allows the tank to be installed at any angle whilst still ensuring simple alignment of pipework.
The grass coloured lid is telescopic and can be tilted to suit ground level for low visual impact.
All tanks carry a 15 year guarantee and all pumps carry a two year guarantee.
Home System Pump with mains switching facilityWhy do we need rainwater harvesting?
The need for rainwater harvesting is increasing as our population continues to grow and our precious water reserves decline. The effect of climate change on our erratic weather system in the UK means that there is either an abundance of water (floods) or drought (hose pipe bans). Furthermore, water charges continue to increase year on year with demand. Water is an expensive resource we all cannot live without.
How can rainwater harvesting systems help consumers, businesses and the environment?
By collecting, filtering and storing FREE rainwater, up to 50%of mains water consumption used in the home, for example, can be safely replaced without any inconvenience, saving you money whilst helping the environment. The recycled rainwater can be used for:
• Toilet flushing
• Laundry
• General cleaning
• Garden irrigation
• Vehicle washing
What are the other benefits of rainwater harvesting?
Using rainwater harvesting can reduce or delay surface water run-off from storm water can be reduced by collecting excess rainwater from the guttering. A rainwater harvesting system can also add sustainable value to your property, and futureproof its water efficiency rating under the Code for Sustainable Homes.
