External Cladding

Our PVC-UE Cladding systems are suitable for external use on buildings as a decorative and protective facing, fixed vertically, horizontally or diagonally over brick, block, masonry, or timber framed walling. Choose from eight different colour options and three different profiles.

PVC CLADDING STYLE OPTIONS

Available in three designs, Shiplap, Open Vee and Weatherboard, each system incorporates a range of trims to suit all applications.  Our cladding can be used in many different applications, both internal and external. The most common uses are on external walls, porches, gables and dormers, and ceilings. It can also be used a soffit board in conjunction with our PVC fascia system. 

SHIPLAP AND V JOINT CLADDING

Shiplap is often used to cover larger expanses, whilst the V Joint (Open Vee) is more commonly used to clad smaller areas, but which is used is a matter of personal choice - both are equally acceptable. Both types of cladding feature secret fixings, where the nails used to fix one board are covered by the overlap of the next board. The fixings themselves are 30mm stainless steel pins. Colours to choose from include: white, black ash, golden oak, rosewood and the hugely popular anthracite grey.

WEATHERBOARD CLADDING

Our embossed Weatherboard Cladding gives a "New England" look that has become increasingly popular in recent years. The 170mm profile gives each a board a slightly larger profile than traditional shiplap and V joint, lending itself to larger areas such as summer houses and front facing elevations on houses. Weatherboard is currently available in White, Sand, Colonial Blue, Misty Grey, Pale Gold, Sage Green, Slate Grey and Storm Grey.

Our Weatherboard cladding is manufactured by Freefoam.

Is PVC Cladding Safe

Our FloPlast shiplap and v-joint cladding boards and our Fortex weatherboards all carry a reaction to fire classification of D-s3, d2/(AHM). This means that the system is not classified as non-combustible and may be used on buildings with no storey 18m or more above the ground and 1m or more from a boundary. With minor exceptions, the system should be included in calculations of unprotected area.

Although the spread-of-flame across the surface of PVC is limited, the material does tend to char and may fall away when exposed to fire. Due consideration should always be given to any combustible materials behind the cladding, which may become exposed in the event of fire. Where necessary, cavity barriers should be incorporated behind the cladding, as required under the relevant national Building Regulations. 

Please note: When your property is within 1 meter of a boundary, building regulations typically mandate the use of a Class 1 fire classification product. These products are generally not made of PVC, composite, or timber, but rather consist of cement-based materials such as fiber cement board, render, or brick. The discretion lies with the building control officer, but as you move farther away from the boundary, you may have the flexibility to use a higher percentage of non-classified products. Additionally, options like fire backing board or fireproofing may be taken into consideration, although cement fiber board remains a commonly preferred solution.
