Acrylic sheets are inherantly UV resistant and are therefore ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Whilst not quite as strong as our soild polycarbonate sheets, acrylic is a tough material that is a credible alternative to glass. It can be easily shaped and is therefore often used for greenhouse, shed or secondary glazing systems as it has excellent light transmission levels - it is actually clearer than glass.
Acrylic sheets are easy to machine and drill. They will not shatter like glass and can withstand reasonable amounts of force without breaking.
