Solid polycarbonate is a flat extruded polycarbonate sheet with the transparency of glass and strength of steel.
It has the same level of transparency as glass yet an extraordinary level of impact resistance. It can be bent, formed and fabricated and it has excellent acoustic insulation properties and UV protection on both sides.
SOLID POLYCARBONATE SHEETS - KEY FEATURES
By far the most remarkable feature of this amazing material is that it is virtually unbreakable. It will resist even the most stubborn attemps to destroy it with a hammer or a house brick. This makes it the favoured material of local authorities for vandal proofing bus shelters, smoking shelters and canopies. It is also commonly used for stairwell and balcony glazing.
In the commercial field, solid polycarbonate is often used to make machine guards for heavy industrial applications.
- High impact resistance - virtually unbreakable
- High clarity and light transmission
- Weather and UV resistant
- Wide service temperature range
- Easy to handle and install
- Versatile, formable and machinable
