Gabion Baskets

Our welded mesh gabion baskets are designed for durability and stability. They are manufactured by TCS Geotechnics and delivered flat-packed, ready to be assembled using wire or helical fixings and assembled on-site. You can fill them with rounded stone, angular rock, or recycled materials such as crushed concrete.

Our wired baskets come standard with Galfan-coated galvanised steel, offering three times the usual corrosion resistance. The wire has a 3.0mm or 4.0mm diameter and conforms to the BS 1052:1980 specifications for general engineering mild steel wire. It has a tensile strength of 600-800N/mm2 and is manufactured in accordance with EN 10218-2 1996 tolerances. The Galfan coating is compliant with EN 10244-2.

What are Gabions?

Gabion baskets or gabion cages are wire containers that can be filled with rocks, concrete, or soil, among other materials. These containers are stacked and joined to create retaining walls and other structures in civil engineering, road construction, and landscaping. Due to their flexibility, gabion baskets can be used for erosion control, structural support, and aesthetic improvement.

How do the Gabions work?

How Do You Build A Gabion Cage?
