Underfloor Heating for Laminate

Electric underfloor heating is a perfect partner for laminate flooring. Not only does laminate provide warmth and comfort underfoot, but it's also stable, and easy to install with heating mats or cables. This makes electric underfloor heating an energy-efficient and cost-effective solution for keeping your space cosy. Remember to choose thin, dense laminate for faster heat-up and check with your flooring manufacturer about compatibility to avoid any warranty issues.

Our range of electric underfloor heating for laminate flooring includes sticky mats and loose cables, as well as foil mats.

Sticky mats and loose cables are mainly used with tiles and stone surfaces, but they can also be used with laminate flooring with a 10mm layer of a levelling compound. The foil mat is perfect for laminate or floating floors, providing an even distribution of heat. The power output of foil mats is 140 W per square metre. Foil mats are also compatible with luxury vinyl tile, lino, and low-tog carpets when used with our Heat Pak Dual overlay. The lower the tog value, the more efficient your underfloor heating will be, with a higher output and a shorter warm-up time. This is because neither carpet nor underlay are good heat conductors. The maximum recommended combined tog for carpet and underlay is 2.5. You can find out the tog value from your carpet retailer or manufacturer.

For a successful and secure installation, it is essential to carefully follow our step-by-step instructions and ensure that all electrical connections are handled by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK building regulations.
