Grass Swales

A grass swale is a linear, shallow, open channel that can be vegetated flood-tolerant and erosion resistant plants. The design of a grass swale promotes carrying stormwater at a slower, controlled rate and acts as a filter by removing pollutants but also allowing infiltration.

A grass swale can result in a significant improvement over traditional drainage in both slowing and cleaning stormwater.
