How To Use An Avanti Rainwater Diverter

The Avanti rainwater diverter is a new solution for transferring rainwater from your guttering and downpipe system into a water storage container such as a water butt. This guides and tips article will take you through the simple process of fitting the avanti diverter to a downpipe and fitting the other end to a water butt.

Installing an Avanti Rainwater Diverter

1. Firstly, fit the supplied holesaw from the avanti pack onto a standard drill and drill a hole into your downpipe where you would like to fit the receiving end of the diverter.
2. Remove the circular piece of downpipe that you have drilled out.
3. Take the C shaped rubber seal and push both ends of the seal into the hole you have drilled in your downpipe. From the outside of the downpipe you should now have a large hole and two smaller holes on the seal flat against the downpipe.
4. Take the diverter pipe connector and fit it into the large hole and two smaller holes of the rubber seal on your downpipe.
5. Screw the two supplied screws into the small top and bottom holes of the diverter pipe connector to secure it.
6. Place some lubricant onto pipe section of the diverter connector in preparation for fitting the diverter pipe.
7. Fit the diverter pipe onto the connector, you may need to twist the pipe as you push it on.
8. Using the same holesaw as before, drill a hole in your water butt where you want the rainwater to feed in to.
9. Fit the second, smaller rubber seal in the avanti pack into the hole you have drilled in your water butt.
10. Use the final connector piece to connect the end of the rainwater diverter pipe to the rubber seal in your water butt.
