Antimicrobial Wall Cladding FAQs

What is antimicrobial PVC?

Anti-bacterial PVC compounds have been developed in response to the rising demand for materials that inhibit the growth of hazardous organisms such as bacteria, mould and fungus while being completely safe for sensitive applications.

Antimicrobial PVC fights germs, making it ideal for surfaces and places where hygiene is critical, such as hospitals and foodservice establishments

BioClad is the world’s first cladding system to use Biocote technology, which removes/eradicates superbugs such as MRSA and E.coli , resulting in a cleaner, safer environment.

What is the difference between antimicrobial and antibacterial wall cladding?

Antimicrobial cladding outperforms antibacterial cladding.

Antibacterial compounds prevent bacteria from growing, resulting in the organism’s elimination.

Antimicrobial compounds also impede the growth of bacteria plus mould, fungus, and viruses.

Moulds and fungal diseases include the hazardous Aspergillus niger. Viruses include infections as dangerous as the common cold, flu, influenza, MRSA, and E.Coli.

Is antimicrobial wall cladding safe for people?

Because the silver ions in antimicrobial wall cladding are stable and do not leach, they cannot harm human health or pollute the environment.

Even if the silver ions could drain out, a person would have to eat massive amounts over an extended period to be badly affected.

Silver Iron Technology, a proven antibacterial component that is safe, natural, and sustainable, is used in BioClad. For decades, silver has been utilised for its ability to help in preservation.

Is infection control improved by antimicrobial wall cladding?

Microorganisms such as microbes are small and undetectable by the naked eye. Antimicrobial wall cladding products reduce the ‘invisible’ danger on a microscopic level helping to create safe and completely clean surroundings for the safety of everyone.
