Aluminium Fascia and Soffit

In recent years, installing aluminium fascia and soffit has become a more and more common alternative to the popular PVC products. They perfectly complement a wide range of modern structures thanks to their sleek and contemporary style. In addition to having certain distinctive qualities like corrosion resistance and a 30-year expectancy, aluminium fascia and soffits share many of the same advantages as PVC, such as being lightweight and requiring minimal maintenance.

In order to suit a variety of applications, our aluminium soffit and fascia are offered in white, anthracite grey, and black.

Does aluminium fascia last longer than PVC?

As mentioned previously, our selection of aluminium fascia and soffit materials have a life expectancy of 30 years when installed properly, but they can last significantly longer if maintained effectively over their entire lifespan. PVC fascia on the other hand has a life expectancy of 20 years.

Installation tips for aluminium fascia and soffit

Keep in mind that while installing aluminium fascia and soffits, all seams between lengths and trims should be sealed using ARP's abrosil sealer, and connections should be fastened with 5mm x 25mm stainless steel screws where appropriate and at 600mm centres on lengths.

Aluminium fascia and soffit maintenance

Overall, very little maintenance is needed to keep aluminium fascia and soffits stylish and in good shape. As with any other fascia or guttering system, we advise reviewing the fitted boards on your property three to four times a year to check that all fixings are still in place and make any necessary repairs. You should only need to wash down your roofline with clean water once a year, or twice a year if your property is situated in an industrial or coastal environment, to maintain the colour of the boards.

How to handle and store aluminium products

We are aware that many projects need the ordering of goods in advance, which means they might not be put to use for several days or even weeks after they arrive on site. When this occurs, several safety measures should be taken to prevent damage to the aluminium fascia and soffit boards. All aluminium materials must be handled carefully due to their polyester powder coating, and they should also be stored on racks and covered to prevent any scratches and uneven oxidisation before installation. All of the lengths of our aluminium fascia and soffit will be shipped in protective polyethylene wrapping that needs to be taken off before installation.
